Kung – Fu

Kung-Fu means "the time and effort to master a task" and it can give you many rewards: Self Defense, Fitness, Flexibility, Strength, Stamina, Discipline, Calmness, Protection, Self Perception, Self image and Ability. It allow children to conquer night mares and fear. It helps people grieve over loss or tragedy – they are no longer victims. Very soon the concern for self defense falls away and as you become more adept, it is the attainment and mastery of this art that is foremost – true Kung-Fu

Ite Iche

Salute Roll hands inward then thrust forward together.

Step forward right at 45 degrees in a circular step, bring your right arm over in a large arc and low block over the knee. Rotate the right arm upwards curling the wrist out to trap a blow in a high block.

Two punches left then right

Repeat to the left

Then turn 180 degrees to the rear by stepping to the left with a double low block

Then High block

Then double punch

Turn to left again, face front at 45 degrees w/ left low block, high block & double punch

Repeat to the right.

Move back to center - Salute

Thrust your left leg behind your right to that the knee nearly touches the ground

Chin-Na

Chin-Na needs very little strength or effort. It is based upon moving the opponents joints in the opposite way from normally functioning joints. Thus, the wrist is not bent it is twisted. When the joint is twisted, the spine is twisted and pain ensues and all thoughts of resistance flee.

How the aggressor attacks determines which Chin-Na is Used

#1 His Right Hand on Your Chest or Throat

With your left hand, place your hand over his hand and trap it. Place your fingers around his hand until they sink into the meat of his Thumb. Your thumb presses into the pressure point on back of his hand. Rotate his hand and peel it off placing your right hand over your left to complete the trap. Step back to your left facing away from the opponent and carry the hand to the floor dropping the right Knee. Aggressor should fall on his back

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

#2 He Grabs your Left Wrist

Complete an inside block. Slide your left hand down to hold the meat of his thumb. Fingers press into the back of his right hand. Clap your right hand over the left to make a cross with your thumbs. Take two steps forward drop your DanTien and push your hands ahead of you to the ground

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

#3 He Grab Your Chest with his Right Hand

With your right hand, push your thumb into the back of his hand and fingers twist the outside of the hand peeling it off the chest . Trap the hand with the left hand and twist under, step behind the opponent to the left and with a large ark swing the arm up and push and pull the wrist joint.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

#4 He Grabs for Your Throat with his Left Hand

With your right hand, twist his left hand counter clockwise. Then crane strike with right hand to curl inside his extended left elbow: place it inside his extended left forearm

#5 He Grabs for Your Throat or Chest with his Left Hand

With your right hand, twist his left hand counter clockwise. Trap the hand between your two hands until his hand is vertical then bow, forcing the joint down.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

#6 He Grab Your Chest with his Right Hand

With your left hand under his wrist and right hand into the bend in his elbow, lift up his arm and swing through under his arm.

Slide hands down to wrist and forearm and pull back stepping back two steps.

#7 Right Hand Held Behind Back

Step forward with right foot and pull opponent off balance

Big circle with left hand onto chin and fully extend in spear thrust

#8 He Grab Your Chest with his Right Hand

Your right hand traps his right hand and left hand covers both

Then skip back and bow, ducking to right with left leg back

#9 Right Hand Grasped from Above

Pull his hand up to your chest,

Left hand traps his hand - his little finger with you thumb. Your left thumb clamps below his wrist and fingers lock into meat of his hand.

Then wrap your elbow over his arm and lean forward into him.

#10 From Hand Shake or Grab

Pull hand to you. Flip hand over and then bend back

Changing direction in a wide circle, pushing and lifting

until his forearm is horizontal and hand is bent down. Hold the fingertips and do not support the wrist

#11 From a Punch

Trap the punch with an outside crane block then slide down the arm and grasp the wrist. Pull the assailant to you and step behind the assailant but hip to hip with your opposite arm in a block across the throat. Pull the opponent’s arm back while expanding your chest.

#12 From Grab from Behind

Use same side hand and grasp his hand. Peel outwards in a large circle (larger then China #2), support and lock the hand with both hands stepping backwards and through between the opponents body twisting all the while and the attacker will roll the opposite way

#13 From an Opposite Side Hand Grab

Pull hands together and trap first finger against your wrist. Curl the grabbed hand under and then over in a crane block over his wrist. Then pull your elbow completely over his arm and dropping inside knee, lean in and apply china in a large circle

#14 Walk with Me - From a Punch

Inside crane block and wrist grab. Thrust right arm under opponents punch, curl right arm over punch and break elbow pull wrist up to your chest and

End with opponents wrist in a crane hold against your chest

#15 From a Punch

Outside crane block and grasp wrist step in front of opponent,

Curl your arm over the trapped arm in a large circle then under the arm in a knife block to your heart forcing the knife block upwards to your throat while pushing down on the opponent’s extended arm with the force bending the elbow back and down;

 

#16 From a Grab to Chest (like #4 but reinforced) Painful take care

Your right hand grabs his right hand as in #4 but pass your left hand under his right arm grasping the far right pinky and crushing it left – push pull

#17 From a Grab to Chest

Peal his right hand outwards (same for 17, 19 and 20) twist his hand round so it is like a crane strike, step away apply wrist china

#18 From a Grab to Chest (Like # 6 but his elbow ends up)

Step through under his arm, follow half through until his elbow is vertical – keep the tension but slide both hands to wrist and twist.

#19 From a Grab to Chest (like 17 but keep close to the chest)

Peal his right hand outwards (same for 17, 19 and 20) twist his hand round so it is like a crane strike, but keep close to chest, step forward, apply wrist china

#20 From a Grab to Chest

Peal his right hand outwards (can even use a left crane block and slip down wrist)

Step in with right leg across his chest

Bring his right arm over your right shoulder. Apply wrist china – push pull

Stand up under his arm pit

 

 

China-Kata

China Kata is a series of twenty China that are executed with a partner and gracefully flow one into the other and teach how to avoid the China grip.

#21 From a Right Palm Thrust

Side step, let palm thrust go by then block with right palm block and grasp fingers

Twist outwards and point fingers up arm and twist down - his elbow and forearm have to be vertical

#22 From a Right Palm Thrust (Similar to #21)

Side step, let palm thrust go by then block with right palm block and grasp fingers. Twist outwards and point fingers his opposite shoulder - his elbow and forearm have to be horizontal

#23 From a Right Palm Thrust (Similar to #21)

Hidden foot stance, catching hand in right palm block rotate palm behind back

With opposite hand rotate face away

#24 From Same Side Hand Grab - right hand - Crane

Trap hand with left hand. thumb and first finger on either side of hand, pin to wrist

Outside crane with right hand while stepping back into right side tiger, bring his hand in front of you bending the his arm at elbow. Then forward crane while straighten arm. Drop dantien in tiger bow

#25 From Cross Arm Grab - right hand - Crane

Trap hand with left hand, thumb and first finger on either side of hand, pin to wrist

Inside crane with right hand while stepping out and back with left foot to make X, bring his hand in front of you bending the his arm at elbow. Then forward crane with right hand while straighten arm. Drop dantien in tiger bow

#26 From Cross Arm Grab - right hand (Sideways Crane hug)

Go under and trap hand to wrist from underneath, turn side ways stepping towards attacker with left leg. Crane with right hand over wrist. Then turn to left facing opponent and bending his arm at elbow. Apply pressure to wrist and bow.

#27 from Cross Arm Hand Grab - right hand Full Nelson (Like #2)

Trap hand from underneath with your left hand against your wrist, with fingers into the meat of his thumb peal of like #2 in a clock-wise circle and second circle behind his back . Keep same hand position and lift up in half nelson his wrist is in a crane.

#28 From Same Side Hand Grab - right hand – (Like #2)

Trap hand from underneath with your left hand against your wrist, with fingers into the meat of his thumb peal of like #2 in a clock-wise circle then step to your left twisting until his elbow is turned over – walk with him.

# 29 From Chest Grab - left

Peel with left hand to outside like #1, immediately strengthen with right hand, step in sideways, drop left hand under, turn his left hand into crane facing you held down by your left hand, push his crane sideways to left

#30 From Same Side Hand Grab (like #13)

Trap hand with your left hand. Roll right wrist in big circle outside/inside block, open right hand in Y and trap wrist finish as for #13 - pull your right elbow completely over his arm and dropping inside right knee, lean in and apply china in a large circle pull to left side high.

#31 From A Double Choke, Front

Left hand under to left right to right then twist wrists clockwise and push to left

#32 From a Double Choke, Rear

Reach back same hand to shoulders, grasp and pull hands through over shoulder, cross, his wrists and throw to left

Right Inside Blocks

1 From a right punch - Right inside Block, step outside with left leg, right arm under his right shin and left forearm pushes him to the ground.

2 From a right punch - Right inside Block, step inside with right leg

left arm under his right shin and right forearm pushes him to the ground.

  1. From a right punch - Right inside Block, Step behind with left leg, grab right ghee and pull up in a wide arc towards your head
  2. From a right punch - Right inside Block, Step behind with left leg, grab both ghees and lift him off the ground pull up in a wide arc towards your head, lift up and out

Left Crane Blocks

5 From a right punch -Left crane Block, step in with right leg to face him, butt him in stomach and grad both ankles lift back and out – he falls on back

6 From a right punch - left crane block/ hold wrist , step between his legs with right foot, right arm behind his neck, step back with right foot and roll him right into side roll.

Kicks

7 From a right kick – catch kick right hand over left, pin on Hara and like China #1 step right to rear, pulling ankle to ground - he hops left and falls

8 From a right kick – Step back , double x block, step forward two steps pushing him on his back

9 From a right kick – side step kick to left, step outside with left leg, right arm under his right leg with spear hand and left forearm pushes him to the ground.

10 From a right kick – step inside with right leg, left arm under his right leg and right forearm pushes him to the ground

Right Inside Palm Block

11 From a right punch - Right inside block, step outside with left leg extend both arms and twist left into right bow and arrow stance

Sweep front leg

12 From right punch left outside crane block/hold wrist, step outside with left leg, little hop and left leg sweeps his right front leg to right and left forearm pushes him to the ground.

13 From right punch left outside crane block/hold wrist, step outside with left leg, left leg sweeps front leg and left hand pulls back on his left shoulder pulling him off balance to the left, to the ground.

China-na Throw #1 He throws a punch with the right hand

With the fingers of your left hand placed around his hand until they sink into the meat of his thumb, your thumb presses into the pressure point on back of his hand. Rotate his hand and peel it off in a large ark step forward with your left foot and break his elbow by rotating your right forearm up under the outstretched left arm. – only 10 lbs. pressure should be needed so be careful in practice.

Keeping hold of his left arm, pivot on your left foot and land a kick to the ribs with your right foot. Step with right foot to the rear of him and take him down with a kick behind the knee with your left foot. He will fall across in front of you. Holding his left hand in Chin-na axe kick across the chest

China-na Throw # 3. He throws a punch with the right hand

You move sideways right and trap thrust with double hand right on top, block the knife to the left. Trap the knife hand with both your hands, grasp the meat of his hand, peal the arm over to left in wide circle in China #3, push pull while stepping round with right leg back for kick.

#3 Knife China (Like China #5). He stabs at you with his right hand
